Washington Waldorf School
Challenge:
Solution:
An independent school in suburban Washington faced bankruptcy when its purchase of a property for a permanent campus did not work out as hoped. Capacity Partners assembled a team of parents, school staff, and others to raise $1.2 million dollars in a little over a month. Capacity Partners developed the core strategy, wrote the Case for Support, researched potential giving prospects, built lines of communications, and assisted with gift solicitation. The school exceeded its fundraising goal and returned to a relatively sound financial footing.
Building on this success Capacity Partners has continued to work with the school by leading a $250,000 annual gift campaign (more than ever raised before), coordinating its 35th anniversary celebration, overhauling its Web site, and producing its annual report.
"When our school faced a major financial crisis, Capacity Partners worked hand-in-hand with the Board, staff and parents to craft a plan that mobilized our community and ensured the school's survival. Mary Robinson provided innovative development strategies and campaign exceeded its ambitious goal. Mary and her team are creative, responsive, and a delight to work with. I recommend them highly. If it wasn't for Mary's help on Action for Waldorf, I'm not sure the school would be here today.”
